As you can see, our little girl is getting pretty chubby. We've started her on formula and it's made her really fill out in just a week and a half. Still an itty bitty thing but those cheeks are chubbing out. She's starting to hold her head up more and grab at things. We even got a little smile from her the other night! She's still very content, doesn't cry a whole lot but is quite the grunter. We had our first appt. at Children's Mercy with the Limb Deficiency Clinic (yes there is a specific clinic just for her!). The rehab department does a special clinic every other Friday just for kids with Addy's condition. It's a really awesome clinic. They try to schedule kids with the same deficiencies on the same days so that they can play together and see other kids just like them. We met with an ARNP, doctor, 3 prostheticians and an occupational therapist. They explained all of our options and answered all of our questions. Although we don't plan to get an prosthetics until Addy is a little older we will still attend the clinic every 6 months to make sure that she's reaching all of her milestones and give us tips on things like learning to tie shoes with one arm. We're very blessed to have such a great resource right in our own town.
With all of the nice weather we've been having we took Addy on her first walk down our street. We also took the dog along with us. I was a little leery about taking him as he had a thing against strollers when we took my nephew on walks but he did just fine. She obviously slept through the whole thing.
Motherhood as been fantastic so far and gets more enjoyable each day as she gets her own personality. I'm really not looking forward to going back to work in two weeks although Tyler will be here to watch her in the morning so that helps. I won't have to have the anxiety of dropping her off somewhere in the mornings. My sister, Ashlyn, has graciously volunteered to watch her in the afternoons on the days that I work as well, so she never even has to leave the house!! Only working 3 days a week is also helpful. Not much else happening in our lives right now, just baby, baby, baby! I'll leave you with a few cute pics to enjoy!
Meg and Tyler - She is such a cutie! Where did you get the "liner" that you have her in in the stroller? I'm thinking Katie and Jim could use something like that for Gehrig when they are in Alaska!! Blessings and enjoy!
